| The Murge |
Among the provinces of Bari, Matera, Taranto, Brindisi, extends a sub-region corresponding to a plateau karst rectangular in shape.
This area is called The Murgia (or Murge), the name deriving from the Latin "Murex" which means rock pointed.
With an extension of 7000 m2, is divided into Alta Murgia (highest part and rocky), which consists of forest with little vegetation and Lower Murgia of more fertile and rich in olive groves.
In this area there are phenomena of karst, swallow and caves.
To visit there is also the Murgia of the National Park (established in Gravina in Puglia) and the Park Murgia Materna (in the province of Matera).

| Martina Franca |
| Martina Franca is a beautiful city situated on one of the last hills of Southern Murgia to a height of about 430 m. Because of its location overlooking the charming landscape of the rich and famous trulli prestigious in the Valle d'Itria is incorporated and has a karst area of considerable natural value.
The trulli are located around the walls of Martina Franca and not in the centre as in Alberobello, but Martina has a very distinctive and historic considered by many a true "urban labyrinth" thanks to the many blind alleys and narrow streets and " hidden ". From an architectural point of view Martina Franca proposes a baroque particularly visible in churches.

| Around the farm Simonetti |
Simonetti The farm is located on a plateau of Murgia Ionian and is almost central to the municipalities neighbouring Massafra, Mottola, Noci, Alberobello, Martina Franca and Crispiano. Nearby are located historical and famous fortified, among which stands out that the Masseria Chiancarello belonged to the Dukes Caracciolo / De Sango of Martina Franca. A few kilometres are other important environmental sites such as' Oasis WWF, of Mount St. Elias in a park located in Prehistoric Rock World of Gravine in caves famous, visited with a guide (see Famous Prehistoric Park ).
Moreover, in an area rich in Gravine so much so that in some places it seems to be immersed in those famous Canyons Americans can be found shelters used by heads of the most famous bands of robbers who scorazzavano in that wooded area in the recent history of post-United Kingdom d 'Italy.
All these places away from the chaos citizen could enjoy immersing in this unspoiled nature with a healthy hike on horseback, reliving those so evocative and exciting experiences of our ancestors.
